Before Nieves IP, Elizabeth obtained her B.S. in Genetics and Genomics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and studied T.E.M.P.I syndrome and leukemia at the Sykes Lab.
Elizabeth later graduated from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. While in law school, she earned certificates for J.D. concentrations in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Transactional Business Law, as well as competed in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. She interned for the Nieves IP Law Group for two years before joining the firm as an associate.

Elizabeth’s case work focuses on patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution for domestic and international clients. From her undergraduate studies in genetics and laboratory experience at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), she particularly enjoys cases involving biomedical devices.
Elizabeth has handled cases involving numerous technical fields including electrical, mechanical, biotechnology, and AI technologies. Her electrical work has included audio technologies, mobile phones, technologies using artificial intelligence, machine learning technologies, software, business methods, and user interfaces. Her mechanical work has included exercise systems, appliances, and home theater technologies. Her life science work has included biological hydrogel adhesives, medical devices, and surgical devices.
